Everybody is looking for the latest and greatest workout to achieve their fitness goals.
Most of the time the ability to reach your fitness goals comes down to consistency. If you get bored or the workout is too challenging, then chances are, you're going to give up and fail. Unfortunately, it happens over and over for many people. My Fit Defense is all about 'Your' Fit Defense. All the simplified self defense moves and bodyweight exercises can be modified so they work for YOU!

Cardio & fitness kickboxing workouts have been a popular choice for many years. 
Those heart-pumping, bag-hitting workouts give you a good sweat and really relieve a lot of stress. But...many of those classes fall short.
Sure, all the punching and kicking gets the heart rate up, but why stop there? Standing in front of a punching bag, while an instructor barks out punching and kicking combinations and a few sprawls and pushups thrown in for an hour, gets old pretty quick. Punching bags are not the best motivators or the best way to learn how to defend yourself.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you have to be in good shape to do class?
Absolutely not! In fact, most of our members are excited that they can learn how to protect themselves at the same they begin to transform their bodies. MFD classes are based on interval timing so individuals can go at their own pace. And all of the exercises can be modified to accommodate all kinds of physical limitations.  
How many times per week should I attend??
Most of our members attend class 1-2 times per week, but our programs allow members to attend as many times that are scheduled. As the saying goes, "the more you put in, the more you get out!"
Is the class co-ed? 
Although many of our members are women, the class is for both, men and women. Members tend to pair off during partner training with others that have a simliar intensity level. 
What should I wear to class? 
Our members wear regular comfortable workout apparel and clean sneakers. Many bring a water bottle and towel, as well as their mma gloves. (our mma gloves offer wrist support too.)
What if I have a physical challenge or limitations? 
Whether you have limitations or not (most people do of some kind), your body still needs a good physical workout to maintain physical and mental well-being. We will modify or alter any exercise to accommodate our members. 
Will I learn "real" self defense? 
The My Fit Defense classes offer a simplified version of many of the self defense skills found in Krav Maga. The many different skills introduced are effective, but do not focus on the "contact" necessary for "hard-core" self defense training. 
Is My Fit Defense like fitness or cardio kickboxing? 
Although the MFD classes have loud, pumping music tracks like fitness and cardio kickboxing classes, MFD is quite different in the skills that our members learn. Unlike the kickboxing classes, our members are learning effective self defense tools, above and beyond just punching and kicking. In fact, any qualified self defense instructor will agree that punching is very risky in terms of injury and not as effective as alternative strikes. This is really important for those who are physically weaker than most. The MFD classes utilize different kinds of striking pads and bags and interactive drills with other members for a real and empowering experience.
